Author Topic: Looking for an MMO  (Read 1535 times)

i mmorpg hop frequently. i never stick around on any one for more then 2-3 months.

but ive run out of games to try out.

my requirements;
-preferably subscription. but im open to other stuff
-any graphics
-cannot be 100% combat!!!!!!! i can spend all day ranting about why that is. and no i dont mean the additional side quests that are fetch or combat crap. thats the same thing.

things to strive for that offer other play-content then just your avatar's stats and items.

GW2 perhaps?

Yeah try this its not 100% combat as theres jumping puzzles etc.

GW2 much.
It is on the same page of topics even! :P

FFXIV (Especially since there is so much more to do other than combat)

Archeage but its not out. player cities, open world, sieges and vehicles, sandbox like farming and housing, command and crewable boats, kraken, pvp only continent, underwater stuff, special events, class mixing

The Old Republic
Part combat, part flying a ship around and making stuff explode in (optional) rail shooting segments, and a whole lot of story. Side quests are optional and kinda blend in with the killing you'll be doing in the first place. Quite early on, and I don't know what the end-game is, or whether or not it's been changed. Monthly subscription.

You ever tried darkfall online? It's kind of dead but I think someone like you could get together a band of people that could dominate the world. It's like HnH only without the lag problems and FPS combat. There are still like 3-4 dedicated clans that are always PVPing so even though it's diminished a lot there is still enough fun to be had and they are working on a massive expansion called darkfall 2.0 that will probably bring back most of the people that left.

FFXIV got TERRIBLE ratings and such, look up some reviews.

i thought ff14 was all combat. i owned the game ta release and played it all of a week before i got bored. but i know they fired the team and got all new devs working on it. now over a year later what does it have?

swtor is pretty much all combat. every quest is either kill some stuff or find some things that have enemies nearby so you kill them too
