Author Topic: Religious thing this gay kid from my school posted  (Read 15768 times)

If humans evolved from monkeys, then there would be no monkeys today because they would have evolved into humans.
WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

That first post was incredibly ignorant.  That whole "fake conversation" that the gay religious kid posted was purely to make him feel like his religion is justified.  Hell, the convo even had the professor agreeing to stuff that any real professor wouldn't agree to.

My chemistry teacher would flip stuff if anybody said "Cold is a real thing and we can study it."

Also, I don't think any so called evidence for evolution, the big bang, or even an old earth is good enough to prove any of those theories. So technically, those "theories" could also exist "in the same way an invisible unicorn that you can't sense exists."
The problem with most religious people is that they don't understand scientific process.

Something being a theory isn't an insult. Wikipedia explains it best,
"Once a hypothesis is verified, it becomes a theory
...
A common misconception is that scientific theories are rudimentary ideas that will eventually graduate into scientific laws when enough data and evidence has been accumulated. A theory does not change into a scientific law with the accumulation of new or better evidence. A theory will always remain a theory"

This is a good conversation to you?

One of the many contradictions of Christianity.

Corinthians 11:14

Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,

This is a good conversation to you?

Well, it's better than a lot of topics. It's an interesting conversation, but people are responding legitimately and providing real evidence.

I think it helps that a majority of the forum is atheist or agnostic...

This topic is more of a "Look how stupid this story is" rather than a discussion.

I think that might be out of context. I thought you weren't supposed to cut your hair according to the old testament?

Some of the atheists are being arrogant, some of the creationists absurd, but other then that I agree.

Anything that challenges your opinion in a non-insulting way should be welcome. It is the very reason I became atheist, you should always be willing to hear a new opinion, provided it effects you in some way. (not like "omg i love red", but topics that are meaningful to you)

I'm surprised at the amount of creationists.

Half of it is people lol'ing at the theory, the other half is people discussing religion and evolution.

You became an atheist to have your opinion challenged in passive agressive debates?

I do agree, It's nice that two separate religions, or beliefs in this matter, can communicate without the usual 'GOD IS REAL YOUR GOING TO HELL' and 'YOUR GOD IS FAKE YOUR FROM A MONKEY' bullcrap that people just spit out.

Just saw this a bit ago.

I became an atheist because I was confused about my own religion, so I decided to learn about both sides. The other one swayed me.

I'm sorry if that was worded weirdly.

Yeah, it was more likely if anything Jesus was a middle eastern socialist pig who gave people things for free.
He should be the epitome of most republican's hate?
