Author Topic: Religious thing this gay kid from my school posted  (Read 15745 times)

op too scared to say stuff so he came to rant on BLF.

I bet any true Agnostic could have destroyed that kid in an argument.

He should have attacked his God instead of the exsistence of his God. This teacher is handicapped, you can't prove that something doesn't exist.

Quick, prove that the Jelly Lord does not exist... Oh wait.

This student kid is awesome. You're a dumbforget for calling him gay because he stood up for his religion.
He's actually gay, it's ironic that he's religious because a priest would cast him out as a horrible person.

There is archeological evidence that suggests theistic religions of today (when they were first forming of course) stole concepts and ideas from ancient civilizations.

Or maybe he's actually a homoloveual?

I was right? Dayum!

faith and logic are different things that the student doesn't seem to understand
it's logical that the brain would be there
it's not logical that there's a god

I'd love to sit at my computer and dismantle his argument, but people would become very pissed off at me. I'll give it a go.

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it. Though cold DOES exist, as the absence of heat.

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness? To Alaska!

Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it is, well you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you? Once again, darkness DOES exist as the absence of light.

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?Evolution has not been observed in action, though irrefutable evidence of it has been observed, essentially the next best thing.

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir? This is laughable. Though MRI was not developed when Einstein was in college(if in fact this even WAS Einstein), there is tangible evidence to prove the existence of a brain, in the fact that he is functioning normally and is not a lifeless mass of flesh and bone.

Professor: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son. They could always bash the professor's head open and see his brains for themselves.

Student : That is it sir … Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving. This student appears to be arguing the nonexistence of logic, perhaps merely because it can disprove faith. Logic can be just as effective at "keeping things alive and moving". Or even, y'know, a BRAIN

P.S.

I believe you have enjoyed the conversation. And if so, you’ll probably want your friends / colleagues to enjoy the same, won’t you? I certainly did enjoy picking the argument apart.

Forward this to increase their knowledge … or FAITH. Make me.

By the way, that student was EINSTEIN. Irrelevant.

Albert Einstein was gay?

That student didnt think about a lot of things and used the usual "Well, why dont monkeys turn into humans nowadays" method of disproving evolution.
The fact that he said there is no such thing as cold was stupid. You cannot measure cold or heat, but you can measure temperature. Both are words that describe temperature.

If cold and darkness didn't exist, we would have words to describe them.

If someone asked me what the temperature was outside, I wouldn't tell them "not hot".

Exactly
If it was day I wouldn't say "Its not dark outside." I would say "Its bright out there"

You can measure heat. Heat is a synonym for temperature.

The student's logic is flawed but that professor is such a richard. Who just starts picking apart people's religions to their face like that? I don't believe in god either but what the professor did is really no better than going door to door handing out pamphlets.
