Cold and hot aren't real, they are ideas created by people.  Heat is a thing, and the absence of heat is a condition also known as cold.

Like I said put simply the kid in this made up pro religion conversation has the severely flawed logic that everything that cannot be proven 100% without a doubt has an equal chance of actually being true. Boogey men and evolution and santa clause and god and the easter bunny are all equally viable in his mind.
