Darkness and cold do not exist by literal scientific definition.But I know that darkness is a lack of light for my eyes to recieve and cold is a lack of heat on my skin and body.It can't be an exact thing because people can have completely different interpretations of it. I can think a room is cold while another person finds it just right. It's a personal perception upon a stimuli.

Atoms don't vibrate, they move until they collide or are acted upon by a force. And they don't tend to become hotter, their motion is heat.
