Author Topic: To buy an Android phone, or not to buy.  (Read 1675 times)

You saw the 4.1 rating Im assuming. Also the phone goes ~300 without contract, not 600.
Maybe at 4.1 rating, and no it goes for $300 with contract. All phones go for a stuffload more without contract and I saw some ridiculous price for it on my search for the cheapest place to get it that was like $549 or something.

I like Android. The iPhone's screen seems too small for me (but i'm probably used to my android) and it feels very closed. I'd suggest the Galaxy S 2, it's a year old, but it's got the most recent version of Android I think, and I haven't regretted buying it.

Another good one is the Galaxy Note if you're into tablets and drawing. (it's a phone though)

Lots of people complain about the amount of games on the app market, but I've nearly filled up my entire space with games I enjoy. Many successful iOS games go to Android, as Android is a good market. (Temple Run came out today) (7 'pages' 4x4 icon space) I've got everything I would ever need on this phone, really.

I hope this was informative.

I like the small size of the iPhone. It fits perfectly in my hand and I don't feel like it's a stretch to hit any corner of the screen, where as it would be with a bigger screen. Another thing I like about it is the surface IS the screen. Some phones have this grotesque 1/3 inch plastic layer on top of the screen that makes it impossible to use. The iPhone makes you feel like you really are tapping those buttons. I already bought the Triumph since I didn't want a contract and it seemed like the best I could get without a contract. I don't really play games on my phone so that's not really an issue, but even if it was I still have my iPhone as my main phone where I could get them. I'm not switching over. Thanks for the post, by the way. It was informative.

I assumed you were referring to the Motorola Triumph, which is 300 dollars without a contract, which is by the way the only way to buy it.

Why not go for a record here: most times I've been disproved in a thread board day lifetime by one person.

Kinda off topic (totally) but I really hate when people misuse to X or not to X

to be or not to be is about loving Self Delete, you don't just misuse stuff like that

anyway, I love my android phone, even though the screen went out due to hardware failure.

It can't really be misused. It's a basic English sentence. I wasn't referring to anything. I'm essentially asking, Do I buy an Android phone, or not? I have no idea what you're talking about with that Self Delete stuff, but that's not what I was getting at. That's like saying you're misusing the word cool by referring to cold things because it's commonly understood to mean awesome.

Anyway, that sounds like it sucks, and how do you use a touchscreen phone without a screen? Sounds more like a square piece of plastic and possibly alumino-silicate glass.

go for a htc - both my sister and my dad have one and there really reliable

I dislike HTC. I don't really know why either. I just somewhere along the line got a bad impression of them.

my phone is an htc evo 4g
aside from the abysmal battery life (which all evos have), see above

I have a Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc S and its really great.
You should try it.

I despise Android. I have an iPhone right now, love the simplicity and quality of iTunes that the Android Market didn't used to have. But one phone that looked like it could tie my entire life together was that one that ran with a completely Google OS. Looked interesting, but still, if you like games go iPhone, if you like full out customization go Android; like with any technology lol, pros and cons..
A jailbroken iphone can be extremely customizable too...
