Pottermore is, as the thread title suggests, a browser-based online game for fans of Harry Potter who just couldn't get enough of the series after the release of
Deathly Hallows, Part II. It basically goes like this: You begin by signing up(with a generated-for-you username that doesn't always sound as beautiful as you'd like). You then can begin exploring semi-animated somewhat-stills painted based on scenes from the
Harry Potter books. In these scenes(called "Moments" in-game) can be some useful objects, chocolate frog cards, and even bits and pieces of J.K. Rowling's thoughts on a subject. You start in Book 1 and work your way through each chapter, collecting odds and ends, reading up on specific subjects, or maybe taking a break to practice a spell or two, or brew a couple of potions.
Along the way you can take two personality quizzes: One for your wand and one for your House placement in Hogwarts. While you do follow the books which are written following Harry, you do have your own character and have opportunities to behave independently from the story(as mentioned above, activities like spellcasting and potions).
This game is still in beta, but is very much complete. If you like, you can post your stats here so we can friend you like the creepers we are.

Note: Spellcasting and potion-brewing are VERY HARD. If you're to try the former, you basically have nothing to lose if you're just practicing and not in a duel, but if you're to try the latter you'd better be ready to pay for lost ingredients and an exploded cauldron if you don't know what you're doing.
