just something I was just thinking about
vat does ze blockland community think

I'd condone it, disregarding the immense technical effort it would take to implement.

Would this be possible after the shadow and shaders update?

I don't think that maps have anything to do with this.

I figured it's some kind of shader that could be scripted or something

yeah

if we can have our own shaders, this should be possible

kompressor said he will release the source code or something so people can make their own shaders.

As long as it's not too much motion blur though, rather blur like battlefield 3.

kompressor said he will release the source code OR SOMETHING so people can make their own shaders.

Are you SURE?

Anyways,

But does support matter if none of us will actually,ya-know,MAKE it?

How can this be made when no shaders exist yet?

The way i see it, if kompressor releases the source code, that is the only way we can get something close if not exactly like motion blur

I said "or something" because I wasn't sure if that was the correct vocabulary. He mentioned releasing something after the update that would let us make our own shaders.

And what the hell are you talking about no one is actually going to make their own shaders? Countless people in the development thread were asking if we would be able to make our own shaders, and kompressor said they could. It's obvious those are the people who want to make their own, and others will be interested and have a go at it as well.

I support this, but to add onto the idea, how about instead of toggling walking, how about it toggles running, and whenever you are running it has more motion blur?

That's unnecessary. Motion blur would be calculated by the speed you are moving at, or aim your camera. We don't need new controls specifically for motion blur.

The way you talk about it, you make it seem like it'd be like the Source Engine's in game motion blur that can only be seen while moving fast, the edges of your screen blur, or when you're just flailing the screen around

While that'd be nice, i'm also hoping that, for example, if other players, vehicles or whatever were moving at a high enough velocity, they'd be motion blurred, kind of like how things are motion blurred with the Source Filmmaker or Team Fortress 2's replay editor

Yes i am using Valve's stuff as an example, but only because i don't play many other games that have good looking motion blur
