Author Topic: Horror Games - Megathread  (Read 2191 times)

What's your problem? Half Life is at least as much of a horror game as Left 4 Dead.
Left4dead gave me chills, so I added it.
the forget
joke

I don't find hl1 very scary, I thought about it but I decided not to.

So you think a comedy FPS based around comedic zombie themes is scary, but not HL1.

so this is not a horror games megathread, its "what eussorus considers horror megathread"

oh well

l4d/2 are not horror games, they are co-op shooter games with zombies. you could replace zombies with giant purple snakees and cookie monsters and it'd be just as scary.

anyone who says LSD is a horror game is wrong, as horror games are intentionally scary. LSD places you in a mindset where you are paranoid of something you don't understand jumping into your face, making you afraid. it was basically meant to be an adventure type game. it's like when you attempt to say a compliment and it comes off as offensive to the other person.

If it makes you HamburgerHappy I will take oh L4D/2

add in current horror games and put them in chronological order and i'll be mother loving golden.

The Suffering was a pretty scary game for me when I was younger.
This oh god this. I played it when I was fiveeee

A game to take a look at is Corpse Party. It had a PC-98 version back in the late 90's and recently got rereleased on the PSP. I actually just finished it a few nights ago.

Edit: There's also Yume Nikki.

Bump!

Just finished playing a game called "Ib." It's made with RPG Maker, just like Yume Nikki. It's pretty short, but it's got tons of multiple endings, from what I've read.

RE4 wasn't that scary.
Except, you know, EVERY SINGLE loving TIME SUPER-SALVADOR CAME AROUND IN THE MERCENARIES, JESUS
Hear a chainsaw?
"OH GOD forget forget forget OH GOD NO NO NO HOLY stuff HE'S RIGHT THERE"

Edit: There's also Yume Nikki.
yume nikki was more disturbing than outright scary

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream
Dead Space
System Shock

JU-ON The Grudge. For wii. Scary stuff i tell you...
Also, the original Resident evil 4 was on the horror side. and it had better graphics than RE5.
