Author Topic: Russia's toughest prisons  (Read 5633 times)

See if I had a child or a family member raped or killed I'd want them to be tortured too.

But objectively, that is not the point of prisons. Its to remove people like that from society, and offer a chance to rehabilitate. If they are truly lost causes, then they should live out their lives in prison away from good people.

Its not about torment or physical torture. Revenge is not the answer.

Punishment =/= revenge

An eye for an eye doesn't have to be applied precisely, it can be applied through other methods, isolation, psychological and physical torment achieve the same results.

Sounds like revenge to me.

That is not rehabilitating or isolating, that is inflicting pain. That is what an eye for an eye is, paying back what they did to harm them.

Besides, it's not like our opinions will change a thing anyway, Russia will keep doing it this way for the next hundred years and I will agree with their methods for the next hundred years
I can agree with your statement, and I cannot force an opinion on you nor would I like to. I don't agree with you in full, but that's just something I have to deal with.

And I can't agree with him at all. We all have fractured views on this.

Thats what you get with controversial matters I suppose.

Sounds like revenge to me.

Yes, it isn't rehabilitating or isolating, but nor is it revenge, it is purely punishment.
Revenge cannot be carried out by anyone other than the persons most intimately affected by the acts of the criminal, but punishment can be applied by any figure of authority.

hey guys
how about

What about it?
People have escaped from there, that stuff is pusillanimous individual compared to this

On the other side of the coin, a system where there is little punishment teaches criminals nothing except for the fact that they can do what they please without consequence.

And that would be anarchy.

No need for torture, just force inmates to work for free. Life sentences should also be death sentences, no point in wasting the money.

But,
don't they get like, 2 trials or something before they get put to death if they're not freed?

They have Black jumpsuits, which would make it easier for them to hide in the night, as opposed the the bright orange we use.

>Light and motion detectors
>every 15 minutes a guard goes by your cells
>being watched every single time by a camera
i don't think they'll be escaping in the dark.

Well they've taken every other precaution, even blindfolding them so they couldn't know their way around if something happend.
