Author Topic: The Walking Dead  (Read 2446 times)

Have to go to school in a few minutes, so I'll update this thread later, but just wanted to show you all what was released yesterday on Steam.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/207610/

If you're a fan of the Walking Dead comics or show, I'm going to guess you'll want this game. Not quite sure about the entire thing yet, but seems pretty cool.

Eh, I don't like the art style. Not my thing I guess.

Point and click zombie game? Sounds great..

TellTale made games based off of two of my favorite stories, Jurassic Park and Walking Dead. Problem is Jurassic Park was practically a learn to type game with dinosaurs and I'm afraid Walking Dead is the same.

If anyone here's bought it and likes it perhaps I'll reconsider...

saw it, looked stupid due to art style.

watching gameplay, looks pretty cool actually. gameplay wise that is. everything else is lacking so far

^ My exact thoughts. The graphic style and voice acting are pretty strange and sub-par but I really like the game's mechanics so far. Might buy it and see if the story is good too.

it looks like Borderlands with zombies and click to move stuff in it.

eh, the main character acts handicapped.

I know right. *Slip on this pool of blood. Walk away. SLIP ON SAME POOL OF BLOOD 10 SECONDS LATER.

Actually I think the graphical style is meant to mimic the comic's look and feel. I guess they could have gone realistic, but the graphics aren't that terrible.

Yeah I see they were obviously going for the feel of the comic books but I've just never liked that style.

i watched an hour of gameplay and it actually looks really good, im going to buy it friday when my mom gets the money in her paypal. main problem with steam is i have to wait till my mom has money to trade money with her aaaa

I got it today, played it through to the end. Loved it, personally i loved the "pick what you want in 5 seconds" sorta thing, pressures you. i felt attached to some of the characters and somewhat fatherly towards clemitine. from what ive seen the whole night/day thing doesnt even matter. it changes 2 things, at least in the beginging(spoilers:if you choose night you meet Shawn Greene and Andre, looking for the zombie that killed Chet[who you meet if you go daytime], and rather than Hershal saying that he doesnt think that patching up the fence is a good idea he goes right for it.end spoilers)

I downloaded the demo from PSN, I thought it was great. I like that they went with the comic book style. The game is like a mix of The Walking Dead comics and Heavy Rain. Unlike in Back to the Future, you can't say/ask everything, you only get one chance and that determines how the rest of the story goes and how characters interact with you. The game is full of choices that affect the plot, it just has the tension that you get from Heavy Rain, except instead of a serial killer killing children, you have the living dead killing everyone. If you're not sure about it, you should download the demo.
