It's also a screengrab from facebook :\ I didn't feel like finding it in my photos and resizing it, so I just tried to get as close to the edges as possible when I uploaded it to facebook. Hold on, let me find the original...

Hey guys I'm in south America.
I really wish I could take a picture of the night sky for you guys. It is absolutely incredible. My camera doesn't capture enough light. Like, the sky is literally crammed with stars and galaxies. You can see the milky way and everything. I've never seen anything like it.

Bump, got some content for later....

Super amateur photography here.

Since I have no camera besides my laptop's webcam and my old android's camera, (I went with the android) I tried to make a decent setup for some items I was selling on ebay.

The only decent lighting source I had was my overhead lamp, so, rate this on how well I used what I had!
Oh, and the background is made of sheets of paper.

I don't know why you'd post those in a creative forum. Those demonstrate absolutely no creativity.

Ignorant.

That is an example of a photograph with no creativity.

oh snap.

long sirrus post inbound

To be honest I kind of like the iPod picture.

To be honest I kinda like this one.

YOU loving SAID TH-

Ahem. Where are my manners.

You said that the purpose of those photos were to advertise things you were selling on eBay. So if you're taking creative photos of something you're trying to sell, you're either failing to take a creative photo or failing to take a photo that portrays in a helpful manner something that you're trying to sell.

And you almost managed to fail in both of those categories. I mean, those photos definitely aren't creative, but I can sort of make out that that is an iPod.

You twit.

Also, don't ever call me ignorant in regards to photography. I will drop trains on you with the depth and breadth of what I know about photography.

ALSO (edit 2) there's a difference between being creative and being clever. If you were trying to be clever with your photos, OK, fine. Whatever. It was clever with the paper and the overhead lamp, but I wouldn't call it "creative", which is already a term so vague as to be unhelpful in this situation.

Are you saying you can't be creative and portray what your trying to sell at the same time? Do you not realize that there is a lot of creative marketing photography out there?

Here are a couple examples from I found with a quick Google search:

This picture shows the durability of the flashlight.

I'm guessing that this is illustrating the tobacco is real.

The iPod picture is at least from an angle and the cord wrapped around it makes it a little interesting. It's still not a piece of art, but it still has some artist quality. He probably wasn't really thinking deeply about the composition of the picture, but at least he took the time to lay it out in a somewhat creative manner. Of course if your posting something on eBay one would need to have some simple pictures to show how good the condition the item is in, but if you have a eye-catching, professional picture on the listing people will be more likely to look at your item.

The difference is that those are for new products. The point of those pictures is to get me to want to buy that product and that brand specifically. For a picture of something on eBay or Craigslist or what have you, I don't want a creative picture, I want as many boring photos as it takes for me to accurately assess the condition of the item.

Think of car ads. I'd get a picture to prove my point, but I'm on my phone. A car ad (like any advertisement) will try to portray the item in the most flattering and glamorous way possible. But if I'm buying a car used, I don't want flattering or glamorous pictures, I want pictures that will give me the most accurate idea of what condition the car is in.

So, if his first picture of the iPod and the second picture (the one "without creativity") were of the same iPod, the second one would have been a far, far better photo to accomplish his goal (picture for eBay) since it showed me the iPos is sort of in a stuffty condition.

For some reason tumblr images don't work in image tags anymore, any idea how to make them?

why do they feel the need to add "ANY TIME" and why is "15" not enough

actually why does it say "NO PARKING"? there's a sign for that
In some places you can only park at certain times throughout the day, so that's why they would make a sign that says its prohibited at all times.

If my phone took high quality pictures or I even knew how to get them off my phone and onto my computer, I'd post a bunch of pics from my recent adventures on the North West coast of America. :P
