Rob Swigart's Portal from 1986 Reborn!

What is RS's Portal?
Rob Swigarts Portal, do not confuse with the Portal published by VALVe is according to wikipedia:
"Portal is a mix between a computer novel and an interactive game. It was published in 1986 by Activision for the Amiga. It was written by Rob Swigart, produced by Brad Fregger and programmed by Nexa Corporation. Additionally, versions for the Macintosh, Commodore 64, Apple II and IBM PC were released. It was a unique game for it's time, a text-driven adventure but with a GUI."

A summary of the book that was released in addition to the video game is here.
"Portal is the story of an astronaut who returns to earth from a mysteriously aborted mission prematurely awakened from suspended animation. One hundred years have passed, animals and plants thrive, cities stand intact. Every human being, however, has disappeared. With the help of  a slowly reviving computer network, the astronaut begins to piece together the events of the last century. He learns of the child prodigy Peter Devore, of a world orchestrated by stunning new technologies, and of Peter's race against time to unlock the secrets of the Portal."

I haven't read the whole book but there seems to be some hint for a reunition with the rest of the live humanity.

I really hope they do make it as it seems like an awesome game.

They've grown around $2000 in the last 24 hours, I think they're picking up speed!
