my god i tried this game today and i literally cannot get past the first like big area, i always die before i reach like the 5th boss in that area.

You just have to play it more. Key tip: keep moving, anticipate the attacks of the enemies, and read the wiki so you know what items and rooms and stuff to avoid.

Best first floor or bestest first floor?

Granted it was under Curse of the Labyrinth (Large Marge Challenge, in fact) but it's better than any combination of items I've gotten on the first two floors before

I'm slowly closing in on Platinum God, though the game itself has stopped acknowledging that I'm unlocking secrets

The counter on the Stats screen is going up but there's no notification that "X has appeared in the basement" both when I complete the criteria (in this case, killing {Isaac} with various characters and Satan with Samson) and when I view my unlocked secrets on the Stats screen

It's still giving me the achievements though so that's at least one thing that's working

I am REALLY not looking forward to fighting {Triachnid} though, assuming it's been patched

Yes.

It doesn't matter what the reason is, if you can get the DLC then you should.
