Author Topic: Placable Floating Bricks  (Read 1195 times)

I'm making something that would be much easier to complete if I could simply place floating bricks.

-I know 99% of blockland wouldn't use this.
-I don't give a damn about 99% of blockland.
-I give a lots of damns about whoever makes this.

"But J_MASTER what could you possibly be making that require floating bricks?"

You could just build a big area out of 64x Zone cubes and build in those

You could just build a big area out of 64x Zone cubes and build in those
But removing the zone cubes would remove the bricks wouldn't it?
Unless I disabled zone cubes, loaded the build, then re-saved it?
Do zone cubes give any properties to the area they occupy?

This is why I hesitated to use them at first.

Yes, but zone bricks are still the best way. Bricks aren't meant to float for a reason

What reason is this, besides the fact that wanding one destroys all the others?

you could use the SAG to remove support bricks, or multitools

If brick can float, how do we know if stuff is connected? It's sort of hard to verbalize, but if floating bricks could be created anywhere, we have a bunch of floating spam everywhere. More importantly, blockland loses it's identity. Despite what some people may think, blockland is grounded in reality, at least structure-wise. When floating bricks can be planted easily, structures stop becoming "structures" and become multiple objects in 3D space.

I told you it was hard to verbalize

i could use this for terrain out of 8x cubes without having to make huge poles connecting the mountains to the ground.

I believe the op stated he didn't give a stuff about what it looked like? or something like that.

easy to make if you know what you're doing

however, floating bricks causes problems in the sense that it just does not work very well.

Well zone bricks are getting the job done.
I'll leave this unlocked for a day or two just in case one of you actually does need this.

But removing the zone cubes would remove the bricks wouldn't it?

then don't remove the zone cube

oh i forgot
But removing the zone cubes would remove the bricks wouldn't it? as apposed to removing one of any brick and having every brick in the build being removed
Unless I disabled zone cubes, loaded the build, then re-saved it? then you'd face the problem above and others
Do zone cubes give any properties to the area they occupy? NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNYUP

then don't remove the zone cube

It needs removed.
Also that image was unnecessary, and offensive. You fit in well on the forums.

instead of downloading another add-on
lets just use water bricks! (just uncheck everything)
