Author Topic: How do I stop failing at typing?  (Read 2800 times)

So I can type with only two fingers(both my index fingers) at around 81 words/minute. This is fine for me. But, my mom says I should try learning normal typing and I can type faster. By normal typing, I mean like this:

But when I try typing like that it comes out like this:
thudis ids how i type wenh usign thatn awy(this is how I type when using that way) and it's really slow.
Or I wind up slipping and using just two fingers again.

So, how do I type like a normal person?

I type very fast and never bothered to learn the "home row keys" bullstuff.

Meaning, if it were me I just wouldn't learn it.

If you're really committed, practice makes perfect.

doesn't matter.

I do the same, and I also write oddly.

I still write though. Well, too.

There is no point whatsoever in typing "correctly." If you can type quickly and accurately with your smallest toes, then by all means type with your smallest toes.

I just use my left middle finger, left ring finger, left index finger, and my right index finger

Don't settle for society's "normal". If you can do things better and more efficiently, then do it your way.

I don't type with my fingers on home row and I type faster than anyone I've ever seen using that method.

i just slam all my fingers down and type extraordinarily fast.

i only started doing the type-to-learn crap in like 5th grade and i started typing in like first so i had 4 years of experience of my own way of typing and i can still type fast even without the ASDF JKL: home row.

But, my mom says I should try learning normal typing and I can type faster.
You're mom is nuts. You can't type any faster by using the homerow crap.

what would you say if i told you she was cashews?

I just have my keyboard divided into two main areas that my right and left hand take over, but they still cross lines alot.
Usually my left hand sits anchored on the left while my right flies all over the keyboard.

I can type using the home row, or just the way I usually do
I learned the home row way because in business tech, I had to use it

I don't use the traditional home keys but I still use all my fingers and can type fairly quickly without looking at the keyboard.
for my left hand I use my gaming keys (w-a-d-shift-space) and my right hand just goes wherever and locates the keys I need.

gamer home position aw yeah

Just keep trying the normal way until you've perfected it.

I took a quick-typing class once. Told it to forget off and decided to practice myself.

gamer home position aw yeah

i usually randomly have my fingers like this;
right hand: thumb on nothing, index finger on left, middle on up, ring on right, pinkie on nothing
left hand: ring, middle, and index all on space

i'm weird
