Author Topic: How do I stop failing at typing?  (Read 2783 times)

Amazingly in a way, Blockland is what taught me to type. So yeah. I started off slowly typing searching the keyboard for keys, then I started knowing where they were, but I still had to look. Now I don't even have to look at the keyboard, and I can do around 81 - 90 words flat in a minute, sure.

I can get 95-125 wpm with my home row bullstuff.

Well, I use my index fingers and my thumb on the space bar and also keys like V,B,N.

Well, it doesn't really matter. Anybody who attempts to push typing "normally" on you is not somebody you should listen to. If you type faster using your method, then that's fine.
I just sorta move around the keyboard with both hands, even if that's incredibly inefficient or stupid. I go faster than if I use the home row set-up.

I used to type home row position. I still can, if I really want to. But, uh, I type from gamer position, sorta.

Left middle finger on w, left ring on a, left index on d, left pinky on shift, left thumb on space.

My right hand, though, since it's usually on a mouse, just comes over and uses it's index finger to type, and it's thumb to press the space bar.

I can type 175 or something WPM, proved it a while ago.

I learned to type by playing a lot of Blockland. Managing your own server is hard work. After playing Blockland for so long, And just typing in general, I went from 40 WPM to 70 WPM. Just type faster using your own style, and practice...

I never have type using the home row position. I just put my fingers slightly above the keyboard and just time. Its quite the ease. I learned to type when I first started to become used to the internet and the computer.

175 WPM, you still suck at filming stuff. Portrait mode, seriously?

honestly as soon as my left hand touches the keyboard it goes to the WAD keys, and I type fine like this.

I type slow compared to you guys :/
I can only hit 47 words per minute but that's because I keep making mistakes and my mind jumbles when thinking.
