Author Topic: Vectroid (game development)  (Read 5942 times)

Based on this Flash animation, I'm making a game titled Vectroid. I'll post updates here once in a while when stuff happens. I'd appreciate any input.

INFORMATION
This entire thing will be written in Python, utilizing (planned) twisted, numpy and pyglet.

PROGRESS
  • Base multiplayer server is done.
  • Base sprite designs getting ready.
  • Game code structure.
  • Game state system.
  • Game sound output system.
  • Windowing system & interface system.
  • Menu graphics, animation, sound and system.
  • Game object management system.
  • Game session system.
  • Game world system.
  • Game level system.
  • Chipmunk physics.

STUFF TO STARE AT

So yeah, any input would be appreciated.

DOWNLOADS

Here's a .exe version (Mac and Linux users, you won't have specific programs however the source will be public so you can install Python (most Linux versions have it bundled already though), the required modules and run it that way) of the current progress. Use it to test if everything works on your system.

That's 13% more loading bar.

EDIT: I just watched the video.  That may have been the most amazing thing I have seen ever.

 :cookieMonster:

Judging from the animation...

Make it a game where you shoot helicopters with a rocket launcher

Make it a game where you use a certain amount of lives to get to your destination, but every time you die, a flower is planted, and when your next life gets to the flower, you collect the flower's power-up to get to the next area. And repeat.
Or maybe you should die in a certain spot to use the flower like a ladder to climb, or a bouncing pad, maybe a trap for a monster.

Just throwing ideas around.

I read this as Metroid.

That is one goddamn brilliant flash animation

i could do that given 6 months and unlimited time with my CS5.5, but i don't have six months to spend.

maybe it could be like elephant rave
