Author Topic: Close relative died.  (Read 8045 times)

I'm saying that the whole 'if you believe you get to go to heaven, so just to be safe' argument is flawed.
Yeah but why the forget not? If its real, cool. If its not, ehh, nothingofvaluewaslost.

Well if the belief is fake than your forgeted. You have to actually show you believe and that your not lying about it.

No I mean what if Judiasm is the correct religion? Then you both and I are forgeted.

no it's not
and I'm agnostic, and I haven't been my entire life
I was born into a family with strong beliefs in Christianity
I was raised thinking it was true; I went to church every sunday and wednesday with my grandparents, and honestly believed everything they told me for the entire beginning of my life
somewhere around being eight years old, I started questioning things, really simple things like "why do people get diseases" and I would always get some bullstuff answer like "god is testing us"
after a while I learned to not bother even mentioning it to people, but continued to question more dramatic things I used to consider fact
somewhere in 6th grade I started to think that if there was a god, who really did love us, he wouldn't send things like malaria and AIDS to kill us
eventually I came to consider myself agnostic, because I don't know what else to call my beliefs

I understand that it can be hard to believe in Christianity. but I don't think there's any reason at all to be a Christian, decide you're actually an atheist (note that this is most likely your personal way of secretly rebelling against your parents), then decide you're not an atheist, but instead, agnostic, and then back to being a Christian "just because"
Last line of that I agree with the most. You can't/shouldn't change religions "just because I want to" because than that's just showing that your confused as forget.

As I said, nothing of value is lost. I'm just going with what sounds the best.
As in, if its real, coolio I get the benifits. If its not, then too bad. What if everyone died and nothing happened? What if heaven has been overrun and god has been killed? What if god has given up on us? Lots of what if's, I decided to go with a free ticket into heaven.

I have the urge that an admin may come in

Hundreds of religions, if you pick the wrong one, you go to hell. Your eternal existence is lost.

Wait just because it sounded best? Dude wtf that's just what?
This isn't a thing where you choose whats best. It actually takes some thinking on what to follow.

I have the urge that an admin may come in
he never has before, so why would he now?
there have been larger and more angry arguments, and he hasn't done anything to interfere as long as nobody broke a rule

I did choose. I chose not to give a stuff, and take a ticket into heaven. I don't care if that's not how it works.

But you're not getting a ticket in to heaven if you don't believe in it all.

it's not "taking a ticket to heaven"
it's taking an eternal gamble with your entire existence
if you're wrong, you're stuck being reincarnated once again, or going to someone else's idea of hell, any number of things
you don't just "not give a stuff" about something that has almost always been the base of human civilization

i believe that if heaven really exists (since nobody knows), then it doesn't matter if you are one religion or another, as long as you lived your life in a way that you enjoyed and you weren't the biggest starfish in the entire world, god will accept you.

Dude you are so forgeted. If its not a real belief than you might as well be Agnostic or Atheist.

BeibsFan is right:

that's not what most Christian denominations believe though
so if those Christians are right, and you're wrong, you're going to hell

Well you know what. I'm bailing out of the topic because I know I'm going to say something stupid and end up being flamed.

Also these Religious wars get seriously serious. Sometimes
