Author Topic: Damn it, my brother had a seizure. (He's back) (Pictures in OP)  (Read 4881 times)

Things like this happen. He will be okay.

For him to have seizures that young...
Was he ever bumped on the head or anything like that?
Or shaken around really hard?
That possibly could've caused scarring on the brain tissue, but if he had some sort of sickness or something, then that could be a factor too.

He was born premature
as with his triplet bros, alex and david

Actually, according to my mother and the doctors, he had a fever, which caused the seizure.
Which was not a grand mal.

It's very sad that your brother had a seizure and I'm sorry about it.

Glad to hear he's okay.

Good news is he probably isn't a big worker so he won't get fired from a job he doesn't have.

My uncle was a fire Marshall but had to quit because he had a seizure about a month ago ;(

So, wait, someone inform me and my lack of knowledge on seizures: why is it bad to hold someone down when they have a seizure?

When a person is flailing around uncontrollably its usually not the smartest thing to try and hold them in place. They could wind up breaking a bone or otherwise injuring themselves.

did he foam from the mouth during the seizure? i heard that usually happens during most seizures.

There are seizures that don't involve flailing around with the force to hurt someone.

I was referring to the one having the seizure getting injured, not the one holding them down.

Don't try to hold the child down. People, even children, have remarkable muscular strength during seizures. Trying to pin a child with a seizure to the ground isn't easy and it won't do any good anyway.
