Author Topic: Is jailbreaking an iPhone worth it?  (Read 4678 times)

hey

guys

if someone wants to pay extra for shiny plastic, let them! it's their choice..
or, in king's case, one cent

and in my case i didn't even buy my ipod my parents got it for me so the shame of paying that much doesn't even affect me
and i have a droid now so best of both worlds? now matter how little best is in one of the worlds?

It's proof that iPhone 3GSes are sold for $0. Whatever your specific phone company did with the phone is irrelevant, the phone costs $0 (or $0.01 in your case, I guess) with upgrade or contract.

Whats the argument over him getting it for free with contract?
He still lost out, there are plenty of better phones her could have gotten with much better specs for free.

lol you do know what that is right?

trade ins and upgrades.

i bet you really COULD get one starting at free, if your previous model was only a month off the shelf and it was still a line to resell.

how do you think this stuff actually works? lol

theoretically you could get a free phone if under just that situation. but it never happens.
people have a phone for at least a year, decreasing the value at least 75%

only an apple user would fall for such an obvious sales ploy lol.
i bet if they put racing stripes on an iphone, slick would believe it was faster.

i can call people, i can text, i can play games when i'm bored

i'm good lol

He attempts to brag about how much money he has and how hes getting a new phone just to "forget around" with. He even goes to the extent to claim the phone costs $600 dollars "without contract" and comes with Android 4.1. Which is a lie. The phone is 279 without contract and comes with android 2.2.

hey bro i'm telling the truth, i got this new phone here for a cent upgrading from that one.

exactly. you are both proving our point. and proving your own shameful stupidity.
meaning his last phone was paid for.

you cant excuse getting upgrades for free/cheap when you have paid for the privileged by getting a full phone at one time.
you have to buy yourself into that cycle.
any brands
any carrier

the debate that he didnt pay anything is a lie

Woah, uncalled for man. I don't brag about my money. I got a new phone to forget around with because that's what I do. I'm a software engineer. I like being on top of my stuff, and since I'm working on a game engine that supports android and iPhone it seemed like a smart decision to be able to test it on both. You have no idea what you're talking about. And I did see that it costs $600 somewhere, I never claimed I was paying $600. That's absolutely ridiculous. I could never pay that. Look at the screenshot, I don't have that much money at all. screenshots gone And I did see that it came with android 4.1 somewhere as well. Probably one misinformed website. What does the android version number have to do with anything though? That just means I was wrong. That doesn't make me a tool.

I have no loving idea what you're trying to say. Yeah. He bought a phone. Then he upgraded for a cent. He got a brand new phone for a cent, his original phone is completely irrelevant.

i don't even get why were still arguing about this

we already bought the phones and it's pointless for people like bisjac and pixel to constantly tell people how they suck

and i think the OP's question was answered pages ago so a lock would suffice.

why is anyone yelling at king

he got a phone that does what he wants and he likes it; why are you telling him he shouldn't like it

I dont hate slick or King just like to argue :D

This topic is pretty done with now though so unless anyone else has opinions on whether or not he should jailbreak we'd might as well let it die.

had a flagship HTC phone before my iphone 4, slowed down, needed constant resets, volume rocker stopped working, headphone port broke (how does this even break its inside the phone), restarted itself, stopped charging etc etc piece of stuff.

apple products are premium, just like any premium brand and are better quality. yeah, you might pay above the odds for equivalent hardware but they're just built so much better. had no problems with my iphone at all, had plenty of problems with my android phone. sorry that you apple haters can't afford apple but don't get too mad

Sorry you're too infatuated with Apple to see some of the ploys. I guess Apple has Rubbed it in.
