Author Topic: Minecraft server hosting help  (Read 1162 times)

I just forwarded port 25565, and I loaded up my server.

I went to www.whatismyip.org, and it told me 96.254.107.66

I tried to connect to that, and it said "Failed to connect to the server. Connection refused: connect"

I added :25565 to the end, same problem.

I tried connecting to 127.0.0.1, and my server list says it's up but I can't connect because "Took too long to log in."

Any help?

Are you hosting on port 25565?

Have you set up a static IP on your computer?

Is the port forwarded to the right IP?

Are you hosting on port 25565? Yes.

Have you set up a static IP on your computer? No, how do I do that?

Is the port forwarded to the right IP? I would assume, unless the above question conflicts with that.

any http://www.portforward.com tutorial should include a part to set up a static ip on whatever router it is you choose

I port forwarded 25565 myself, with the Verizon guide for my router.

i wasn't suggesting you follow a tutorial there for that part, i meant for the static ip part

As a host you connect to "localhost" (no quotes pls) on your own computer.

Okay so I just did all the instructions on here.
