Author Topic: MIDI File to evented Synth song  (Read 893 times)

Basically, it would convert a MIDI file, take the main track, then put delayed events on activate with the synth tone...
I think this would be cool because people wouldnt have to download the songs you played :D

YES. SOMEONE MAKE THIS MAGIC HAPPEN!

protip- events only support up to 30 second delays

You probably could make an external program that converts MIDI files to an event save, if anyone wanted to take the time to do that.

Though, I doubt anyone does.

NEWSFLASH: events are horrible

*Inserts MIDI file
*Script runs a full hour
*Gets brick with 40000 events
*FFUUUU Too many events at once

I disagree.

No proper logic checks?
No loops?
No routines?
Repetitive input?
No proper way to control program flow?

OnRelay > self > FirerelayNSEWUD
:P
That works too, it would save as a dupe for the duplicator

I know nothing of this.

I dont think torque even supports MIDI

this is really the only way to do it

Protip: projectiles
Protip: relays to other bricks

Protip: relays to other bricks
oh now we have more than one brick?
this script just got a bit harder.

this is more an argument over events than simply talking about the idea

i feel like noting that this is impossible without an outside system of processing the file

i'm pretty sure you can't process a midi file in blockland, i might be wrong.
