i normally click the second to last page and read the first post to see if i've been on that page before.

otherwise i just use the new button

It may be a better idea to make the shading an outset instead of an inset.

With the way he's going that'll just turn into bland pillow-shading. If anything he should avoid doing that.

the arm further away is shorter because perspective, but now i'm thinking that looks wrong.

His arm is shorter but his leg isn't, which is why the perspective looks off.
