great pixel art aside i am forgetin baffled as to the fact that a normal-ass dragon and a floating camera live together in a forgetin contemporary relatively-average house

i mean, unless it's a sitcom or something

It's a part of some obscure government plot!

why would a household that is like 90% appliances need normal, nonsapient appliances at all

like even humans dont sit around in houses full of apes and chimps n stuff why would machines, as the clearly superior lifeform

Some appliances are not sentient for the sake of sanity. A person wouldn't want to live in a household of 20 people who's sole purpose is to do one or two things and at the same time have feelings and their own needs. In C.O.R.E., since everybody is raised to despise humans, appliances were considered the next best thing since robots with human faces proved too uncanny. (Even robots with "robot-like" faces did not fit the same level of "homely-ness" as appliances did for dragons)

no its not the issue that the appliances are sapient

like i enjoyed the sink from old world blues i thought that place was great

it's the issue that some of them are sapient and some of them arent

like imagine living in a house full of people but like only one or two of them actually respond and the other 18 of them all hobble around doing basic mundane stuff like brushing the floor or scrubbing the tile and occasionally they look at you and they LOOK like a normal person and occasionally make sounds like a person trying to make a conversation and none of them look anything short of an ordinary person but you by experience are aware that they're totally soulless husks

thats some grade-a stepford twilight zone creepazoid stuff

Oh yes, I suppose that appliances without sentience would just be considered husks to an average person. Then perhaps that CORE civilians would be raised to think that they are just another form of "functional clothing." It's a relatively odd culture that I haven't gotten down to explaining most of yet. :S

Maybe it's the difference between a "possessed" and non-possessed object... But that again relates to the creepiness factor. (You can barely tell the difference between a sentient and nonsentient appliance) (That said, the difference is probably that nonsentient appliances lack an "AI-Light", which denotes some sort of "soul" in the machine. For example, Camera has glowing blue lens, a regular camera would be grayed out.

raise and lower the sprite itself to make it look more natural

Yeah, that's what I was planning to do. The hard part is getting the dummy down.
Now I gotta polish it up.

As for the movement, I'm happy with it.
