color ramp generators are not your friend do not use color ramp generators

or, at least don't use them raw- a machine-generated color ramp will be technically sound but usually not actually pretty, so play with the colors you want based off of that ramp until you get something with complementary-enough colors that portray the object close to the palette in your head
fair enough, I guess

you can also play around with these values:

basically, lowering saturation makes it paler and less colorful (adds white), lowering value makes it darker (adds black)

color choice applies to pixel art as well as regular art, try to limit using black and white/monoshades of a color and use hues more

wait, that website could be decent if you used hue shift only a little (10-12 or something)

There are two basic damage types in the game: Promote and Damage. As an easy reference, Promoter matches Densitron's chest gem color, and Damager is the inverse. Promoter switches Densitron out of his current mode (so if he were to be hit while light, he'll turn dense, and vice versa) and Damager simply kills him.
Mobile platforms can be ridden while in light mode and can be used to cross dangerous terrain. However, when dense, Densitron simply breaks them under his weight. The platforms can float, and can also have beams placed atop them to discourage Densitron from landing on them.
The off-white parts of the cannons and the mobile platforms aren't going to be white- they'll instead match the color of the level (for example, they're green in the grasslands)

I'm not doing too well on my own and I don't want to just rip the style from somebody else

Here are some rocks I made from a game I made.

Legitimately the only visual thing in this game that looks good and you can only see it if you lose.
