generally artists put a link to their tumblr/deviantart/whatever (after posting it there) or literally put their name/signature on it, and usually those measures are more than enough to protect against art thieves.

as soon as you make something (in almost any first-world country), it's copyrighted. you don't have to do anything special, much less tell everyone that it's copyrighted every time you post it somewhere
