Author Topic: A literal floating vehicle?  (Read 2096 times)

I've seen a lot of flying vehicles around, but I've never seen a single one that is based on FLOATING rather than constant forward motion and gravity. I know helicopters, but they still seem to rely on gravity.

Something that actually is based off of levitation sounds like a cool idea. Let's say we're comparing (As an example) the player jets to the f8/admin orb.

Bushido's helicopter has floating.

I know it does, but I mean something with more control, like if you want to turn, you turn without moving the front of the vehicle.

That could be quite possible.  Some air control hack and using a bot instead of vehicle.

Just think of it basically as a third person drivable admin orb.

You mean admin orb float move like w,a,s and d keyboard easy movemet as vehicle?

I was going to suggest just making the wheels invisible but that's not what you want :c

like the magic carpet?

?
Oh god what's that one arcade game with all of the choosable hovercraft and you race them?  I played it all the time in the movie theater.

like the magic carpet?

No, that relies on gravity and constant motion to stay in the air.

I mean being able to stop and hover.

It's very easy to do that with any of those flying vehicles. The magic carpet moves by itself only when it is tilted, so if you keep it level with the ground then it will float.

So, a vehicle with invisible wheels and a light body? Sounds like a good idea.
