Author Topic: How do I do this chroma key stuff with sony vegas movie studio?  (Read 1508 times)

I'm doing a school movie project on explaining biology concepts and I decided to use Blockland, since I could easily just build sets and stuff, plus i can use all sorts of bot creatures. However, I want to have stuff moving on screens even though it isnt actually happening in-game, like greenscreens sort of. where could i find a good movie editing program that can do greenscreen stuff?

Also I meet my deadline in 2 1/2 weeks, so I would appreciate a program that isnt incredibly complex and hard to use, I need something I can simply just install and use, without any hassle.

I've solved all of this problem, but I need help with this chroma key stuff.

Okay, let me explain the two videos that i'm using here.

Video A is a video of my ship's bridge, with the viewscreen on the bridge being green for greenscreen effects.
Video B is a flyby of a ship, which is supposed to be seen on the viewscreen in Video A via the chroma key stuff.

The problem i'm having is that I want Video B to completely fit on the screen, yet it only shows a huge magnified proportion of it. Is there any way I can crop it to fit to the greenscreen area?

pretty sure lightworks can but i haven't really gone very far into that

really, if you're looking for free stuff, you should look around on Sourceforge
as the name implies, it's for open-source software, which says, to anyone not interested in programming, "I'm free"

can I be one of your actors

You could always download the free trial of Sony Vegas HD Movie Studio Platinum 11, and the full version's only $94.95.

I just realized I have enough money for that.
Yet I'm saving it for ARMA 3.

I hate hard decisions like this.

Blender (yes the 3D modeling program) actually can do greenscreens and layering and post effects. And you can have modeled stuff if you want as well

I was thinking of getting that, how long does the trial version last to use?

wow, only $100?!

compared to something like After Effects which is upwards of $1000, yes, only $100.

$100 really isn't that much bro.
