Maybe I was a little to harsh on that photo. It just doesn't create much of an impact for me because it's overdone. Don't take me wrong, there's nothing wrong with doing things that have been done before. Do that all you want, but when you sharing them be careful because people usually like to see more original pictures.

Day 39 unedited looks a little better. It still looks like your white balance is a tad bit blue. Do you have a program to make small adjustments to your pictures? Even if you're shooting in JPEG instead of RAW, you probably should so you can correct small white balance and exposure issues.
Aperture should probably be more closed. I don't know any reason that a big aperture is beneficial for a daytime sky picture, and your lens will actually be a lot sharper at something like f/8.

I know I just critiqued you for editing your day 39, but I think it could benefit from a little bit of tone curve adjustment to help bring out the contrast in the clouds. Nothing major of course, just enough to fix some of the blown highlights and make it pop a bit more. Since you appear to be shooting in JPEG (as far as I can tell from the EXIF), you may not be ready to mess with the technical things I just mentioned. If you don't really understand what I meant when I mentioned editing, don't worry about it and just keep focusing on composition.

and fix that page stretch  :cookieMonster:
I always forget how to resize images on here. Also I'm getting photoshop cs6, and lightroom 4 before I get anything else. Also I usually shoot raw, but now I won't until I get cs6, adn lightroom. The clouds one was jpeg though. Also "Aperture should probably be more closed. I don't know any reason that a big aperture is beneficial for a daytime sky picture, and your lens will actually be a lot sharper at something like f/8." that never dawned on me to be honest. I wasn't aware that fully.

I have SennHeisers meself. I love them, lol. And this project is awesome.

Oh my yes they are, and thanks!

Day 44

The point of this project isn't to show us 365 different things you have in your house. This project should encourage you to get out and take more pictures, as well as try to catch the picture worthy monuments in your life.

Do you take your camera everywhere? If you don't want to take your DSLR everywhere because it's a pain to cary consider getting a point and shoot to keep in your pocket. (or a mirroless and a pancake lens if you have the money) If you have a decent phone camera, don't be afraid to use that.

Sit around at your house all the time like me? Try going to a local park and taking some pictures of the scenery.

Yeah I actually don't really, but I went to a concert last night here, so I'll show you if I got a good one from their, I liked most of them.

How can you tell him what the topic is for when it's his project?
In my opinion, these pictures probably do encourage him to get out and take more pictures, because it certainly does for me. Also, I think simple images of one object really are monuments; each picture is one of the 365 that builds this project.

Also just to note this for you guys, the whole point of this project is for me to grow as a photographer, I want to get better please be as brutal as possible on these photos as long as what you are saying is constructive, and will help me get better.

Edit: also Tammy I do prefer to take more than just some stuff laying around my house, cause that will, and can get dull quick. I want to get out and shoot concerts, people, practice my landscape photography, and multiple other things. I just haven't done much of that yet. Today I will go to the park like you said, and I won't come back until I have something I like from there.

Let me start off by saying I've never really been a fan of flower photography that much, but when I got to the park today that's all I really wanted to take pictures of, I did take some others, but the flowers seemed to be my favorite, so without further a due.

Day 48

Day 36

Im giving this "project 365" thing a shot, but How do you get that kind of effect. I don't think I have that nice of a camera for photography.
Heres my camera: http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Compact-Digital-Cameras/26262/COOLPIX-S3100.html

-snip-
It's just exposed a bit longer than most pictures, so when the cars drove by the lights just turned into a beam. Also it doesn't take a good camera to be a good photographer!

Day 50

I know, But I dont know how to make my camera "expose" the picture
