Absolutely wonderful, so much better than your OWB app. It's nicely understated, classic, and elegant. Well done!

Thanks for the nice comments :D

Some of you were asking if this was default, the answer to that is yes. Default bricks and default colorset were used. Why? Because I found out that my BL runs much smoother with no addons enabled :P

I did not use any plans in making this. When I started, I didn't quite know how I wanted it to be, so I googled a few pictures. Once I got a basic understanding of how it was supposed to look, the ideas came from my imagination. As a consequence of that, the castle is kinda devided into different sections. I just made it up as I went along.
However, the final result looks kinda like something you could expect to find in real life.

Amazing work, as always. However, some architectural points for you to note:

underneath the overhangs for the upper balustrades should be arches or lateral supports, as noted here in the Tattershall Castle picture.

it would add just a bit more realism to the build.

Also you might want to consider randomnizing the coloring scheme of the bricks a bit. One flat color makes it somewhat hard to see the differences between the windows and the walls.

As for name, I suggest Ferdinand de Regia

Would you mind explaining what part you mean? My medieval glossary isn't the best, and I didn't find anything that made sense with google.

I agree with you. But because I built everything with brick conservation in mind, I have alot of big bricks that would look odd if colored darker. So I have to strategically remove large bricks and add smaller, differently colored bricks without hurting the brickcount to much. I might do that after the interior is done.

Where does the name come from? And why Ferdinand?

Varying amounts of jelly

As for interior pics; here they are.

Please note that I consider myself an exterior builder (I suck at interiors :P)
Also, I noticed that using default bricks limits you quite a bit when it comes to building furniture etc :/

The dining hall. Notice the ugly chairs and the boring floor pattern.

The master's chamber. It is a bit small, but it was the largest room available at the time :P

The throne room.

The wine cellar can be found in the dungeons.

Some random hallway with a harpsichord and a picture of the king shameless self promotion
The library can be seen in the background.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Absolutely gorgeous. Have no idea how you can come up with such great buildings.

I think the inner courtyard needs more stone and maybe somewhere else too. Atm it's too much grass in the castle.
The interior is pretty.. mh yeah. You're not so good with interiors as you said. :)

I've been seeing this in the list of server previews, and have been wanting to see more of it.
And it's all default bricks right?
It looks great, but indeed interiors are not your strong point. However the castle is still fantastic.

Fantastic, I've been waiting for you to do another castle.  Your "travels" builds were very well done, and it was only a matter of time before you threw a fantastic castle out there.  Keep up the good work.

I might host it tomorrow if someone wants to help me out with the interior. If not, I'll keep the current one. Bad interior is still better than no interior, right?

Yay! Hearing that from "the master" is certainly flattering.

Can't find/remember the specific term just right now, but another reference pic for you to see.

Note those jutouts just underneath the topmost layer of windows; that's what i'm referring to. Usually they're either ramped like that, or are arches.
