Just play Malzahar to outfarm, and use your visions as a harass poke.

You can't dash through veigars stun with fizz anymore :C all you can do is hope over it now. Still counters him pretty well but it was funny urchin striking onto him through his stun ^^

Also, Annie can beat Fizz i've learnt if played right. Annie just has to put 3 points in the ad mastery and she can auto attack harass him at level 1 before he gets his combo. He's then too low to do anything at level 2/3 (Where Fizz gets his combo and becomes really strong.)

I took movement speed quints too and i would just kite his urchin strike and then auto attack him whenever he went to last hit. Ended up like 12/2 at the end of the laning phase. And everyone knows what a fed annie is like o.o

Do you think that general kind of strategy would work for Veigar? I do occasionally auto-attack kill people (more than I would like to admit) and I wouldn't mind a little more insurance on that front.
Also, that was the dash that annoyed me the least: I would stun so that the dash would go through one wall most of the way, then they'd still be on the edge and get stunned.

Annie is so good for auto attack harassing because she has ridiculous base auto attack range. (650 i think) So Fizz really can't do anything. You could try it with Veigar. I think I might the next chance I get to play against Fizz.

Veigar's auto-attack range is not incredible by any means. I believe my abilities have a greater range.
