I Can't Tell if My Friend is a Dumbass, or Really Unlucky

can ps1s stay on that long without loving up? I remember playing ff7 for about 5 hours in a row and it shutting off w/o storms or power fk ups or anything.

He told me he was on Disc 2, so I guess he saved once.  But he was half way through the second one  (or so he claims.)

One time I was playing Spyro and forgot to turn it off when I went to Phoenix for a week.
I came back and it was still on and I was able to resume my game just fine and played for the rest of the night.
