Messed up internet won't let me host

I'm having to post this on my desktop because I can't get the stupid internet to work on my laptop. It sometimes works when i reconnect to it but then it gives out on me after a few minutes. It wont let me connect to the internet or anything yet it says I have 5 bars of connection to my router.

I ran multiple diagnostics and windows keeps claiming that there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. It isn't due to firewalls either because I already have them all shut down. I can get an internet connection on the desktop though.

Any idea what might be causing the problem?

Also, I keep getting "authentication failed" all the time and i keep having to re-enter my BL key when the internet does work. its weird.

Did you try restarting your router and modem? Unplug them both for at least 5 seconds and then try again.
