Author Topic: Help me find a new laptop fan (Read 743 times)

My ~1.5 years old HP Pavilion dv6-2153eo (AMD CPU) laptop's fan recently started making an odd sound and then occasionally didn't start at all. I've tried searching around a bit, but the only one I was able to find was http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Laptop-Fan-HP-Pavilion-dv6-2153eo-F167-/200696740788, which seems to be for an Intel version.
Any suggestions for where I can get one?

I am not really a technician with cpus, so all I can say is that there is a really cheap laptop you can get for $314.99
at Best Buy

Buying a new laptop isn't really an option at the moment. Best Buy doesn't exist in Sweden (and that laptop is probably pretty bad).

Tried Amazon, no luck. IIRC Newegg doesn't ship to Sweden.

i just had to order a new fan/heatsink unit for my viao laptop. but i got it from the sony supplier site.

cost me 50 bucks free shipping. hopefully you can get that lucky lol

my computers fan was so difficult to remove from the heatsink (without damaging the heatsink)
that it was cheaper and easier to replace both units in 1 lol
