Author Topic: I wish every single one of you could see what I see right now.  (Read 1768 times)

Hey guys, so I'm currently at one of my familys summer homes in the upper peninsula of Michigan in the mountains, Keweenaw area. We have a house near the top, and the view is just breathtaking.

Though, the main thing I wish you guys could see is the stars. I live in downtown Chicago, so I don't see them due to light pollution, but astronomy is one of my biggest passions. The ability to see all of the constellations and all of the planets on my patio is just awesome. I'm at a loss of words. I can currently see Jupiter and Neptune the best. As well as what looks like a nebula of sorts (though it might just be a really badass cloud formation).

I attempted to take pictures, but I forgot my actual camera, and my cellphone doesn't capture it. :(

I wish I could live here forever, its so perfect. The forest is all around me, animals running around (deer, foxes, squirrels mainly) and ah. So awesome.

<3 it here, wish I could come up more often. :/

screw that I use KSP
But no seriously I envy you.

What is KSP? :o

...Actually it would fit you. It's a space flight game. Kerbal Space Program, google is your friend.

I'm pretty sure most of us see stars on a daily basis

Okay? What is your point? I don't, and I wanted to share the experience with you all. No need to be a richard.

Plus, I doubt you see them like I currently do. The closest town is like 25 miles away. Closes neighbor is probably 2 miles. No lights anywhere. Nothing but beachbum, trees, this cigarette, and stars.

how about listening to music and stargazing instead of smoking

haha just kidding you'll never listen to me

then share it...?
I'm sure you have a camera in one form or another

although, I really would like to go somewhere empty in the Midwest or similar to see the sky, as well as just the landscape
I'd rather go somewhere really far north or south though
like Greenland or Antarctica
to see the auroras and all
