Author Topic: MC server. [Hamachi] [Vanilla]  (Read 1555 times)

Hey, if you'd like to join, the hamachi server's name is     BlocklandMC       and it's password is     BL     (Btw don't include the spaces, derp.)

After that, just speak to Juncoph. He'll tell you the MC IP.

Yes, the server is 1.2.5

No, the server doesn't have bukkit. What the hell do you think vanilla means?

No, I don't need or want to add bukkit. I tried once and could only find a link that had a virus.

Yes, you can build/destroy anything that isn't another player's.

Yes, there is a way to claim land so others can't take resources from it/blow it up. Place a fence and a sign. Destruction of these will be bannable, unless it's just the owner removing the possesive ownership.

No, you can't randomly own everything. Just certain special things, such as a cool formation. Or a cave entrance you're mining in.

I hope you join!

Get rid of hamachi, it's annoying and no one likes it

First off - you aren't "everyone". You are entitled to an opinion.

Second off - I don't like it either, but it's worth just joining one loving server in a hamachi network to play minecraft then going through the painfull process of portforwarding with my landlady's router. And yes, I use her internet so that's why it would be loving hell to set up.

You seem way too hostile and I don't want to install Hamachi. Lost a visitor.

You seem way too hostile
I really agree with this
I don't think you'd be a very good host
also, wtf are you using your landlady's router? shouldn't you have your own internet?

have someone else host it? hamachi is a bitch to setup and it's exploitable

Aaaaand I will NOT be joining. I doubt anyone else would be either.

inb4lock?

some people might join, but not very many with Hamachi, ecspecially if we can't join by just reading this and logging on directly. I doubt anybody wants to install hamachi, put in a name and password, and then ask someone for the IP, and then go on the server.

Hamachi is ew.

If you cant host a proper server, dont host at all?

What is Hamachi?
Hamachi is a program intended for incredibly computer-incapable users who want the easiest solution to host servers that would normally require powerful machines on their home computer. This is in no way efficient at all in terms of network nor power.

Should I join a Hamachi server?
No. Your experience in the server will probably be poor. There will be many problems and the server will most likely be down a lot. This server is not run by someone who wants to be a frequent host, nor can they afford to do so. Their lack in knowledge in something as easy as port forwarding likely shows that the server will usually lack a proper setup as well.

Edit:

So why was Hamachi a good idea in the developers' view?
Hamachi was intended for making LAN games playable through WAN. That is all. It was never intended to be an alternative to hosting servers.

host servers that would normally require powerful machines(forgot a comma) on their home computer.

The "painful process of port forwarding" takes all of about 5 minutes and saves anyone that wants to join your server a lot of time. Just do it you lazy bum.

Free hamachi has a 5 person limit anyway.
