Author Topic: The Odyssey o' poor judgement and Riddler cake  (Read 1379 times)

So me and my friend's made a cake for Riddler's birthday a month or so ago. I posted it to Facebook to share to lulz

My uncle, who is barely Jewish, got angry and told my mom. She didn't mind much. The news got around to my father and led to the deletion of my Facebook, as well as an apology letter
What I wanted to send:

Spineless Kevy never showed it to his parents and wrote another one.

Yeah, stuff tits

well obviously if you make a swatsika out of frosting you're trying to offend someone. i'm pretty sure giving a happy birthday to a man who ordered the killing of 11 million people would offend most people

Haha, that's great. Nice one on your part, a little harsh at times, but overall very nice (espcially with the satire speech)

What's offensive of acknowledging the existence of a date and a person?

Of a guy that killed 11 MILLION innocent people.

birthdays are known simply as happy days of joy, to celebrate another year in the life of someone, whether they are dead or alive. notice how all around the world, people celebrate the birthdays of people such as martin luther king and gandhi, because of what they stood for and what they gave to society.

and, well, you know what Riddler stood for.

i get that what you did was a joke, and some people could take it, but some other people, whether they have relatives that were in the holocaust or (i highly doubt this) were in the holocaust themselves, might take offense.

I guess I'll forget your birthday because you spent 11 MILLION minutes on the computer

no, we should never forget history, no matter how terrible, it's just that we shouldn't go all happy with cakes and frosting, even if it celebrating his death because he wasn't a great person.

He was truly great in power and honestly fascinating to myself and probably many others

i'm sure he is fascinating to many people, and curiosity is nothing to be ashamed of.

all i'm saying is that just because something doesn't hurt you deeply or hit you somewhere inside, doesn't mean that when it does for someone else, they are a sensitive pusillanimous individual.

I have quite a different view on that

The Stranger was Billy Joel's beast album and it still sounded like stuff.
I found this rather humorous.

Over political correctness. Germany banned the prescience of Swastikas in public and basically deny the existence of 1933-1945. It's offensive to call someone black, gay, or handicapped(I guess this one makes sense) even though they are. We are so afraid to be called a tribal or anti-Semite because apparently the slightest thing can be misconstrued.

Me and my friend's have determined to end the politically correct craze as it suggests that are others are not equal because of what they been through or heritage. A perfectly politically correct world would allow anyone to make a joke about anyone and we could all laugh. With that belief, we don't censor ourselves
