House renovations more or less complete. Claimed another two plots, making my little house now up to 32x32 blocks. Added a second floor to half of it, and made some more reliable storage :)

Whats the point. It just means everything has to be rebuilt.

resources have been wasting away and stuff
and the update brings new things into the world that wouldn't be there otherwise.
and the game gets boring once you've built the house/ castle/town that you wanted to and once you restart you can start having fun again.

I'm having fun now, safe in the knowledge that if I die I have a ton of spare stuff in my nice house I spent ages building.
Rebuilding is annoying, and IS boring if you have to mine, cut and smelt all the materials and blocks to rebuild your home.

Besides, the only things 1.3 brings that would be 'missed' are different villages, stupid one-time-interest TNT temples and emeralds.
Who cares about them? The rest is just additional content that can be crafted in some way or another.

I really have a hard time seeing your point of view because the main thing I find fun about minecraft is the mining, cutting, and smelting.

Before when people had to gather their resources there were tons of people on the server, now there is so few because they've already built their homes and explored their caves.

Whenever a server restart comes about I will definitely do something very fun. Also I will be away again until about the 5th, when I return im planning on having some sort of event giving things away
