Author Topic: How to plug in speakers? Need computer help!  (Read 1186 times)

Hai,

Need technical help. I have two internal speakers I salvaged from an old all-in-one computer. I have a motherboard with "front panel audio". The two speakers have black and red wires (two in each) and what looks like front panel connectors on the end.

How do I attach them? I'm working on my first build, using a budget Intel D525MW desktop board.

Can I attach them at all?

Would like some internal speakers as it suits what I am building.

do you need to know how to plug a speaker into a computer, or how to plug it in in the speaker?

do you need to know how to plug a speaker into a computer, or how to plug it in in the speaker?

How to attach the two connectors to the computer, or if its possible. It seems to be front panel wires but I dunno if it requires custom connections because it was salvaged.

do you know what google is?

do you know what google is?

Already done extensive searching, can't find a question quite the same. Asking around now.

Don't carry your butthurt attitude from the other topic into here. And please, don't post since you are under-qualified to answer, clearly.

i just asked if you know what google is, i meant "did you search anything".

i'm not butthurt, if anything you are, for overreacting to my question.

obviously you didn't search hard enough, if you can't get a awnser out of google, you probably won't get one from here.

who knows, you might get one though.

Protip about English, depending what slant you give it and what words you use, changes how passive aggressive it makes you sound. :D

The more we learn.

Be my guest and search. There isn't an answer I can find. Now when you've done suggesting the obvious in the most condescending manner you can think of, go ahead and move onto being unhelpful somewhere else.

no because it is not my problem.

well you are in off-topic, not a whole lot of people are helpful  :cookieMonster:

I'll try and help:

Does the connection from the speakers look like the one on the right

if so, there is a connector on the motherboard that should be labeled "HD AUDIO"

Yeah, I have a selection of front panel connections on the motherboard that are listed as AC'97 or HD Audio.

But the speakers only have two wires, black and red. I guess its not going to work as is then? Damn.

Something tells me that it would probably be helpful to post pictures of the things in question...?

The output of the HD audio connector is brown townogue, so I imagine if I can get the pinout, that you should be able to connect the speakers to it.

couldn't you just solder on a 3.5 mm stereo jack?

or what fluff said.

Yeah, internal speakers with an external head will be really great. lolno

Let me take a photo in a sec.

Take a look at the back of the PC, if im right, they should plug in back there.
