this always happens, i just click "play offline" and play offline.

No, because your account can't authenticate which means the server would be missing a lot of information if you were to join it, but if you can't authenticate you can't even do anything besides single player. The most you can do is see the status of servers in the multi player menu.

it's been down for a while
and he's probably just been joining servers that allow pirated MC clients

edit: just tested that on a server that doesn't allow pirated MC clients
comes up with an error
"Connection lost
Failed to login: Bad login"

So either Eussorus pirated Minecraft and is intentionally joining servers that allow that, or it's just a coincidence.
Hopefully just a coincidence. :P
