You get a website notification, an e-mail and Steam notification.
You can also go to your profile and see how many games you've won to be sure.

nothing at all, ive given 2 games though

leveling up is useless for more access to giveaways since theres less giveaways at level 2, barely  any at 3 and none at all after that
charity only has a few, too
but you do get more points and chances so i guess it has a use
