Author Topic: My Opinion of v21  (Read 1606 times)

This will most likely not stand out, but i want to make myself heard.
The new v21 update has Pros and cons, but they level each other out.
Half of the people want terrain and interiors, but the other half wants amazing shaders.
Now i have to say, the shaders that Kompressor has developed are like no other, but still, its not impossible for him to keep terrains.
And yes, terrains ARE buggy, and yes, they do have texture errors.
But they are a big part of the game, and an example would be this: When i try to ski on any flat map, when i get up to full speed, i fall through the floor. on slopes, it would not do this.
Another example, terrains are GREAT for vehicles. Bricks, are undoubtedly not. Even with just the jeep, vehicles end up clipping in walls, or getting stuck when trying to go up a ramp. But if we drove the jeep on slate, the wheels would register every bump, the collision box would not clip into the terrain, it would hit it, and either slow down and go up it, or come to a complete stop. Now i myself do not like interiors very much, but someone else can give a petition about that one. I literally do not see any sense in bedroom or kitchen.
But still, they have ways to be fun, so try to keep them. I know this is a stupid thing to say, but i would be a bit happier about this update if we could have a new vehicle.
But anyways, Kompressor, you don't have to kill half the game. Try to keep that 50%.  (If you do ill give you a lot of  :cookie: s!)

goes in general discussion

also all the problems you labeled, these will be improved.

terrains and interiors are all holding back the development of the game so once they're removed vehicle physics will become much better along with several other things.

No.  They're not going to be redone.

op is giving lots of examples of why terrains are great. and none of them have anything to do with building with bricks.
case and point...

Why is this in off-topic?

Why does this topic even exist.  Op should lock before he becomes even more of a friend.

Are you white?

what about em?

the point was, op plays blockland to ski around and play with vehicles. he dosnt build.

so we are to believe now that the update may suck because it hinders some noobs from entertaining themselves driving around in circles...

OP, you have no clue what you're saying that it's not impossible. It isn't, but it's not like there is a whole team of game designers working on this. Settle for shadows and shaders. I'm tired of these topics.

..or driving at all for a good 6 months

Surprisingly large amount of replies in short amount of time...

One thing that I love about our community is that we are good at developing methods of building. Building terrain is very difficult without using cubes, and no new techniques have been developed because of  the availability of terrain maps, such as slopes. With terrain removed and replaced by shaders, builders will be forced to develop ways to make good terrain. The way I see it, this will be like taking a babie's toys. It's time to grow up, and to do that we need to leave our old toys behind.

It's not half.

It's an overwhelming majority.
