the only thing you can do to fix it is to buy a new power supply
dusting the inside only helps with the cooling
Well I got hope in this working again because this has happened before.
When you plug in the cored it makes a static noise and I felt electricity in the metal even though it was fully unplugged.
I'm doing what I did last time and letting the computer rest while the static and all goes away.
It should work again later.
Depending on how old it is you may be able to contact HP for a free replacement part.

Its like 6 years old+

This.
Also, goodbye minecraft world? Your minecraft world is saved on the hard drive, and if you knew anything about computers like you say you do, you'd know that.
And, you say it's a built computer, but then you say it's a Dell Precision?...
I know that the world is saved on the harddrive but I don't think I can take and get it off if the computer doesn't turn back on.

Yes the computer is home built but it was origibrown townly a Dell Presicio 650, we replaced everything except the motherboard and processor.

mine can barely play blockland in mine, but atleast it doesn't crash :cookieMonster:
wat.
I use to have a stuffty card for 30 bucks and it ran Blockland perfectly on max.
I never knew there could be stufftier.

You can always put the hard drive in a new computer and recover files.

I suppose you could but I never got it to work.

It's probably one of the easiest things to do hardware-wise though

When we put in the drive it never reconizes it making us format the whole computer.
We use really old hardware most of the time.

old hardware means nothing, you must be doing it wrong
i have a 200GB IDE drive from 2002 and it's been running for 7.2 years altogether
works perfectly fine, 0 bad sectors and boots vista in 28 seconds
for a 10-year-old 5400RPM IDE drive i'd say 38MB/s read and 36.7MB/s write is decent
