I recently finally beat revelations and the ending has me wondering why Desmond will even be back in the animus for 3.
I'm confused.

this made think that maybe he starts to go insane and slips into connor's memories as they try and do stuff?

I can't believe that they would cut out the desmond part of the game completely, especially since they basically made it clear that ezio and altair were just messengers for desmond.
