The main focus of Clonk Rage is on the new fullscreen menu for player management and scenario selection which comes in proper gaming style and transitions smoothly into the actual game worlds. Players new to Clonk will find a completely reworked mode of control much closer to the principles of well known Jump'n'Run games.
The network code has been completely rewritten and now allows considerably faster internet play while still supporting the physically demanding landscape simulation of Clonk. This is complemented by numerous additional networking features such as a lobby, chat, and a new league server.
Clonk Rage is the first Clonk game to be released simultaneously for the Windows, Linux, and Macintosh platforms.
Clonk is an amazing game. It might be slow paced to some of you but for me it is the best thing in the world. The graphics seem like they were from a very old game. The gameplay is amazing an has a lot to offer. There are two parts of the game: Free and retail. Don't think "WHAT YOU HAVE TO BUY IT? I BET FREE SUCKS ASS ANYWAYS!". In the free version there are pretty much 4 game modes. They are Worlds, Missions, Races, and Melees. Worlds is pretty much survival. They are generated and you have one goal to do. Missions and races are pretty much the same. Except missions are actually fun and have manly man objectives. (The first mission is getting 3 skulls that are underground while. The first 2 are easy but the last is on a tiny island surrounded by lava.). Melees can be explained in one word: fight.
Now im going to explain the mechanics of the game. There are plenty of worlds to play in with the free version. From grasslands to deserts to flying islands. Your main goal will be usually getting a certain amount of points in gold or inhabiting the place. Sometimes you might have to kill the enemies too. You can collect wood or ores in the ground to build things like sawmills and castles. You can even build catapults to launch items. Heck, it's gonna take a while so you might as well play the games lengthy tutorial. If you skip it you wont get far. The most fun thing is throwing anything at your friends. Anything you can pick up you can through. Even explosive rocks and snowballs.
Play with your friends! Hosting on this is a bit awkard and people reccomend using hamachi. Me and ayxrion have been playing this and its been a lot of fun. Maybe someday we can host a huge Blockland server and throw snowballs at eachother. We will be the under ground race of Clonks! >:)
What is the difference between full version and free? You get a huge amount of worlds and missions.
Also the ability to save your worlds. In the bonus worlds you can even fight DRAGONS. Theres even a western one! I would recommend buying it. Especially at it's price of 15 dollars. If you can't buy it free is something to settle for. You still get plenty of stuff.
