Headphones and Earphones

How do you listen to your music?

Headphones and Earphones are the most popular form of listening to music while mobile. iPods, MP3 players and Smartphones are among the best forms of portable music, and with a good music player and quality headphones, music on the go is the best way to enjoy getting around.

What headphones/Earphones do you use?

There are many brands of headphones and earphones. Here are some of the most popular:

  • Apple (iPod In-Ears)
  • Panasonic
  • Sony
  • AKG
  • Audio-Technica
  • Belkin
  • Samsung
  • Shure
  • Monster (Beats by Dr. Dre, etc)
  • Bose
  • Sennheiser
  • BlackBox
  • SOUL by Ludacris
  • Marley Headphones
  • SkullCandy
  • Lethal
  • Many more!
Types of Headphones

  • Over-Ear: The most frequent, over-the-ear style of headphones. Most popular.
  • Wrap-arounds: These wrap around the back of your head and over your ears.
  • On-Ears: These are split into two speakers that hook onto your ears.
Types of Earphones

  • In-Ear: The most popular is the in-ear style, that made it's debut with the Sony Walkman and the Apple iPod.
  • In-Ear (Marshmallow): Similar to the In-Ear, except they have a special material that squeezes into the ear cavity like earplugs.
  • On-Ears: basically in-ears of any type with a hook that wraps around the top of the ear to keep it in your ear.

I use a pair of AKG K403s that I purchased today. Excellent bang for buck. Stellar sound quality and completely portable and comfortable.

I want these but the price of $450 isn't worth it.

AKG K272 HD
$300
Really high quality, makes 192kbps songs sound like poop, 320kbps sound meh, and FLAC songs sound amazing

Munitio 9mm SlTi Earbuds

Koss KSC21s. I have yet to send them in for repair, but I got them for around $7.50 due to a holiday sale, so I can't complain. The quality is good, maybe a little tinny. They're small and pretty comfortable.

I just bought these a while ago and I am very satisfied with them.

I use a pair of Bose AE2s.

I have Sennheiser HD555. Comfy as forget even after 10 hours of use.

I use a pair of Razer Cacharias for gaming. $80 bucks retail. Extremely comfortable, though they do sometimes get hot on account of the velvet on the cups.

Sennheiser PC 31.

Unfortunately, the left headphone broke recently, for an unknown reason. I still have to use this, as my parents refuse to get me, or let me get a new one. Especially since I just got it last Christmas.

I've got Triton Ax720's.

They have really god sound quality but the wires are bad and get tangled fairly easily. I don't think they make these PC Comparable anymore either. I'll probably end up just getting Headphones/Earphones and using a desk mic.
