Types of Headphones- Over-Ear: The most frequent, over-the-ear style of headphones. Most popular.
- Wrap-arounds: These wrap around the back of your head and over your ears.
- On-Ears: These are split into two speakers that hook onto your ears.
Types of Earphones- In-Ear: The most popular is the in-ear style, that made it's debut with the Sony Walkman and the Apple iPod.
- In-Ear (Marshmallow): Similar to the In-Ear, except they have a special material that squeezes into the ear cavity like earplugs.
- On-Ears: basically in-ears of any type with a hook that wraps around the top of the ear to keep it in your ear.
I use a pair of AKG K403s that I purchased today. Excellent bang for buck. Stellar sound quality and completely portable and comfortable.
