Author Topic: Why does MC have more players than BL when we were made first?  (Read 5299 times)

The title pretty much just explains everything. Anyway, this has nothing to do with the rivalry.

Blockland and Minecraft are two totally different games, silly

For one, Badspot isn't a lovey Swede.
He is a lovey American.
Once you go American, you never go back.

I mean how did MC become more popular?

They marketed it better.

Then, can't we do the same?

prolly cause notch uploaded videos about minecraft's development.

Advertising costs monies.

Advertising costs monies.
And the only advertising we had was a really obscure interview, from a really obscure podcast about LEGO.

There are people who prefer a game featuring a more simple building style like what Minecraft has to offer.

For one, Badspot isn't a lovey Scandinavian.
He is a lovey American.

When did Sweden become Scandinavia

I thought someone once said, they saw an Blockland advertisement on Youtube.

i remember when minecraft was 10 dollars.
now it's like 30.
i got it for 10.

OT: Minecraft was advertised much much more than blockland is.

Blockland wasn't featured on the TF2 blog after someone made a 'blockland' themed tf2 map that then spread to several gaming news outlets and then had a huge explosion in players largely due to media hype.

It's not advertising at all. I believe it's just because Notch got lucky. People like the game and by word of mouth it slowly got more popular, like Blockland. But then certain gaming magazines picked up the game and the popularity skyrocketed from there.
