Author Topic: My explanation about why most clans fail and/or suck  (Read 1921 times)

Most clans in BL have no actual purpose.  The ones that have no purpose fail within days.

The ones that do have purpose tend to try to act much higher than they really are.  Those clans tend to fail within weeks.

Why do some people feel like when they start their clan the best builders/eventers are going to want to join?  Seriously, nobody seems to understand the concept of building a reputation.  Why not try to get players with potential, and work together to advance your skills as a group?

Also, a lot of clans are very serious and a lot of clans are too silly.  There is an easily attainable happy medium.

Don't make the app process a job interview, but keep some rigidity to the process.

Another thing, people never make good stuff anymore.  It's always just building houses, or landscapes, or even food.  Yes, there is a clan dedicated to building food.  That would be a silly clan I mentioned before.

Well there's my whole rant.  Discuss if you feel like it.

Well, you're right but nothing will ever change

I think they kinda do have a point. Not sure why, but they are something to be in and it's nice to go out and build something / kill with other people that you got to know because they're in your clan. It's just fun I guess. I especially like seeing eventing clans.

/agree
all the clans now suck because all the mature members aren't helping build any of them up.

i wish we had clans that worked like TRIBES 2'S
like, you killed other clans and you could have up to 124 players(64vs64)

Exactly.

Bluzone is run by a clan called PRP.

We seem to do pretty well in the sense that there are no commitments at all.

Clans should be more focused on friendship groups who have a collective interest, rather than skill or a specific goal in my opinion.

I dislike how some people will have building projects and then turn all the people helping them into a clan member or something of that sort, and create a clan out that one build and call it their clan build or HQ.

SS is still around. It's more just a group of friends than anything, although it has large projects once in a while and currently hosts a Minecraft server.

This.

What I would do, is I would gather some really close friends who are great builders/eventers
(whatever the clan may be) and we would build some projects and form this sort of pact, and eventually it evolves into a clan with over 6 members maybe. (note: this could take awhile) and then we would make it public for others to join.

It is a group of friends now, and our large projects just take forever.

our large projects just take forever.
Very true. They are moving though.

knaiz, please stop mentioning bluzone, it sounds like advertisement

OT:
forget dis, I'm already making a tribes 2 server for the stuff and giggles

I used to work on getting people together to work on things and improve them, but it never worked out because of everyone's schedules.  The concept behind it was very good, had a lot of potential, but never got off the ground because of inability to organize it.  We were simply spread too thin.

That and the only recognition clan people get is when someone recognizes the abbreviation in their clan tags, and besides, most people just put random stuff there so nobody knows when to take it seriously.
