Author Topic: My Dog Died :c  (Read 903 times)

She was a roosterer spaniel with black fur. Her name was Jennie (like a geni in a bottle) and I got her when I was 3 or 4 years old. The memory is deluded but I can still picture her in the cage. All the other dogs were barking, jumping up on the cages at me as I walked down the isles. As I got to the end of one she was just sitting there staring at me wagging her tail. We opened the cage and she didn't bark and I petted her. She was kind of like a cat in that way. She would just kind of sit there and wait on you to pet her.

The people at the pound got her ready especially for me that day so I could take her home immediately and not the next day.

Time went on and a few days ago she got sick. She's been like this before and she recovered despite her health steadily falling. Her eyesight and hearing had gotten progressively worse over the years but she was still happy. We hoped she would get better but there was blood in her urine and she was lethargic. She would eventually make it outside to pee but she would just wander unable to find her way back until she just fell over. I went to my grandparent's for the weekend so I was spared the misery of having to look at her.

While I was away, Mother found a tick on her and we thought it was tick paralysis. Her condition improved slightly until it took a terrible dive. She stopped eating and her tongue kind of drooped to the side. It was apparent she had suffered either a massive stroke or a series of small ones.

This morning as I was coming home she was taken to the vet to be put to sleep. I'm told she died before the procedure was even over.

TL;DR: I lost my dog that I've had since I was a small.

;_;

Sorry to hear that, kind of sad it had to suffer that much before you put it down.

It's always made me happy. Hope it makes you happy too.

I had a labrador-chow mix, he was a good dog.
invincible even. hit by cars, shot by shotguns, pelted by hail, big tree limbs hitting him, several problems doctors thought he wouldn't live through

he was around 15-17 when we finally had to put him down. blind, deaf, hardly able to walk anymore, began squatting when he had to piss
so yeah. i had that dog my entire life

I'm sorry for your loss.

BTW hold old are you now?

Poor dogs
my condolences to you

At least she lived a long life with a good owner and didn't have to end up dying in the pound. I'm sorry your dog died but happy she didn't die unloved or unwanted.

I'm so sorry she died ;__;

She didn't suffer much. We put her down when it was clear she wouldn't recover.

Okay, to be honest, that's pretty sad.
But have you tried my solution yet?

:'c

my first dog was adopted before i was even born, but he got cancer and had to be put to sleep a few years ago, maybe 2010 or 2011 its hard to remember :c

he had a tumor thing on his face, sometimes it would start bleeding and we'd all have to go help him

I always hate it when everyone has pets put to sleep.
Some of the time something can be done (not saying that it can in this case)
but just don't want to spend money on overpriced vet bills.

Okay, to be honest, that's pretty sad.

I lol'd

Ironically I bought a dog last month.
